Direction
ValueAdapter_Direction returns the normalized direction between the input vector and a secondary vector.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Secondary Vector | The second vector. When the adapter is the Merge Operation of a Tree Operation, it is overwritten with the secondary Stat's value. |
| Process Order | Incoming To Sec: (input − secondary).normalized — the direction from the secondary point to the input point. Sec To Incoming: (secondary − input).normalized. |
Ships for Vector2 and Vector3. Inside a Tree Operation with two positions it gives the direction from one Actor to another (knockback away from the attacker, pull toward the hooker).
Example
Knockback away from the attacker: a Tree Operation with the Target's Position as the incoming Stat, the Source's Position as the Secondary Stat, and Direction as the Merge Operation.
Target Position | Source Position | Process Order | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
(4, 0, 3) | (0, 0, 0) | Incoming To Sec | (0.8, 0, 0.6) — away from the attacker |
(4, 0, 3) | (0, 0, 0) | Sec To Incoming | (−0.8, 0, −0.6) — toward the attacker, for a pull |
3DCells uses ValueAdapter_Direction_3DC this way for the Titan Greaves, Twinblade Lance and Chain Hook knockbacks.
