Intervener Effect
The Intervener Effect Processor triggers another Effect before the current Effect is applied — and can block it.
It is the pre-stage counterpart of the Counter Effect Postprocessor, which reacts after the Effect was processed.
The triggered Effect is configured by the resolved IntervenerEffect Stat and is executed according to its IntervenerEffect Signature.
Intervener Effects are evaluated separately for the Source Actor and the Target Actor.
The IntervenerEffect Stat is resolved as follows:
Base Stat (BS) Processors
- For the Target Actor, the IntervenerEffect Stat is obtained directly from the Target Stat's IntervenerEffect Relative Stat.
- For the Source Actor, the IntervenerEffect Stat is obtained from the Source Actor using the Stat Key referenced by the Target Stat's IntervenerEffect Relative Key.
Attribute Stat (AS) / Multi Attribute Stat (MAS) Processors
- For the Target Actor, the IntervenerEffect Stat is obtained from the Target Actor using the Stat Key referenced by the Attribute Stat's IntervenerEffect Relative Key.
- For the Source Actor, the IntervenerEffect Stat is obtained directly from the Attribute Stat's IntervenerEffect Relative Stat, since the Attribute Stat already belongs to the Source Actor.
The resolved Stat must be a IntervenerEffect Stat.
Variations
Ships as BS, AS and MAS. See the Processor naming scheme.
The Relative Stat can be any shape — one Processor reads all of them:
| Stat shape | Use case |
|---|---|
| Plain Stat | Thorns Aura — any incoming Health Effect triggers a counterattack before it lands, no matter who or what caused it. |
| Source Separated | Grudge — only hits from the Actor that applied the mark trigger it. Everyone else lands freely. |
| Signature Separated list | Flame Ward — only fire-signed Effects trigger it; physical hits pass silently. |
| Signature Separated list of Source Separated Stats | Mage's Bane — react only to the fire spells cast by the enemy who cursed you. |
| Suffix | Expects | Use case |
|---|---|---|
_Effector | Resolved on the Effector's Actor | A pressure plate holds the Intervener. Whatever steps on it triggers the Effect, regardless of which Actor owns the trap. |
